on to the shekhawati region in eastern rajasthan, full of small, dusty towns with beautifully and bizarrely painted havelis from the 18th to early 20th century: the caretaker of a haveli in nawalgarh
in addition to presenting stories from hindu mythology, frescoes depict such newfangled things as airplanes, foreigners, and englishmen.
